Even though I was not able to make it to the debate I believe that everyone is to blame because we all started drama in Rwanda, our actions provoked the genocide and when it began we didn’t really do anything but sit there and watch. I feel that the people that shouldn’t be blamed are the RPF because out of all the people they helped people the most. As far as everyone else we all played and role in building of jealousy and angry and some of us just sat there and did nothing. But the top three people that are to blame are the French, and Belgium’s, and the interhamwe.
The French are to blame because they are the ones that armed and trained the Hutu militias and soldiers knowing that the genocidal attacks would happen because the Interhamwe told them directly if the Tutsi’s keep acting like there the better people there would be some serious actions taken place. The French ignored what the Interhamwe had said and still decided to train them. Then when thousands of people started to die French couldn’t even apologize for their actions.
The Belgium’s sat there and provoked thing to happen by making a certain amount of people in charge and making them more superior than the others. They shouldn’t have done something like that know how aggressive the Interhamwe are.
Finally the Interhamwe did the most damage by killing 800,000 innocent people; I feel that they could have retaliated in a different way instead of killing people. What I’m saying is that after that all of the Interhamwe’s actions were unethical and also inhumane and that they should have been punished for their actions.
In conclusion everyone is to b lame and cannot put all of the pressure on one group.
i agree with diamond, my group the RPF were the people who ended the genocide
