Closing Statements~United Nations-Ben Morelli

I am one of the representatives from the United Nations at the Rwanda Genocide debate. The Interahamwe are to blame, and their refusal to accept that they were acting on their own accord shows that they are aware of their failure. To respond to the Interahamwe’s accusation of General Dallaire’s racism and withdrawal from Rwanda, we had never really left Rwanda alone. We watched over the nation the whole time. I find it somewhat difficult to believe that machetes were your best weapons available, but I will not focus on this area, as it is hardly relevant.

To the French, you had denied everything that was shot at you. You cannot claim that the United States and the United Kingdom created “lies” about you raping torturing and massacring thousands of Tutsis. That is quite ridiculous and extremely unrealistic. In addition, you had supplied the Interahamwe, even though you denied it, as well as denying everything anyone blamed you for.

To the people who attacked the U.N. for not shooting the Interahamwe, we are a peacekeeping organization, not a military body. It is not our job to attack others and create peace, but to promote and hold peace. To conclude, the United Nations had fared well, and the murderers known as the Interahamwe and the French are responsible for the genocide in Rwanda.

  1. I agree, I also blamed the Interhamwe for the Genocide. Who are you referring to when you said, "The people who attacked the UN?"

  3. I agree with the comment about the French, they had no proof that the information was false. If anyone from the French group accusation is reading this comment, I would like to see the proof.

  4. It does no good if you watched over the country the whole time if you didnt even help it.

  5. You never left Rwanda alone?! 10% of your troops left after only 10 white soldiers died. 10% in the fastest growing genocide. The truth is that white people were getting hurt, so you left. I would absolutely LOVE to hear your explanation on why you with-drew earlier.
