2nd hour
Belgians Final Words
We were accused of not being a powerful enough to stop the genocide, but really we granted the Tutsis independence 30 years before the genocide even started. We also were accused of letting others clean up our mess when we pulled out after it was getting dangerous for our soldiers and we pulled out after the UN did and you countries army can’t stop a whole genocide by itself. We were accused of being the main spark of the genocide by making the Tutsis the higher power. We admitted to doing that but what really started the genocide was when the Hutus shot down the Tutsis president’s plane.
We think that the French are to blame for the genocide, because if the interhamwe didn’t have weapons to kill anything with, they couldn’t. Also The US you never did answer my question. Do you not think that 800,000 African lives are worth the lives of whites are you still using racial discrimination in your tactics, are you African haters. After the US ran out of question they seemed to struggle to find answers and question they seemed to slide out of the debate after first hour.

Over all we do think that the main people to blame for the genocide are the US and the French. You didn’t help didn’t even send supplies (cough cough US), or maybe you supplies the machete wheeling killers, trained you solders to train the killers (cough cough France). It is your entire fault.

  1. The US did send in supplies to Ugand ato help by sending APCs like we mentioned in the Debate. We have an article from CoverAction to back this up. It is not our fault that the genocide ended before our help could be implimented. Why did you pull out of Rwanda after only 10 of your troops died and why did you not even tell the UN until after you had ordered your men to pull out already? Do you not think that 800,00 African lives are worth the luves of whites?
