A: A is for August, the month my great-grandmother Lindsay was born in, and I was too. Anne of Green Gables is my favorite book. Alanis Morissette’s song, “Thank U” really speaks to me.
B: B is for Biology, one of my favorite subjects. B is also for “Belle,” which I called my sister, Isabelle, when she was born because I couldn’t pronounce her name. Speaking of “Belle,” “Beauty and the Beast” is my favorite Disney movie.
C: C is for Castle, my favorite murder mystery show! Cousins, which I have many of. The Cranberries are my favorite band, while Christina Perri is my favorite singer.
D: D is for Dexter, my tuxedo cat, who has a balding problem. Dian Fossey, who studied gorillas, is an inspiration to me.
E: E is for the environment, my platform cause.
F: F is for Faith, my name, and for forests, the places I love. I would love to become a Forest Ecologist. I took Fencing Lessons in sixth grade, and had my first and only tournament while sick with the Flu in seventh grade.
G: G is for Global Education, the best two hours of my day. G also stands for Gin Rummy, my favorite card game.
H: H is for Hangman, which I beat everybody at as soon as I learned to play. Seriously.
I: I is for Invictus one of the best movies of all time.
J: J is for Jack, Jann, Jill, Jeanne, Jeff, Jennefer, John, James, Juliann, and Josh: the names of all my aunts and uncles on my mom’s side, because my grandmother loved the letter “J.”
K: K is for kabobs, hot off the grill, my favorite summertime meal.
L: L is for the leaves that I collect and press in the fall.
M: M is for Madame Curie Award, which I earned my first day of chemistry camp. My main track event in seventh grade was the Mile Run.
N: N is for nature walks, which I love. Nicklel is a metal that I am allergic to.
O: O is for owls, one of my favorite types of birds.
P: P is for pancakes, which my sister and I made my dad make every weekend when we were little.
Q: Q is for Quizbowl, which my family has a legacy in.
R: R is for Rachel Carson, my hero, who inspired me to pursue ecology and writing together. The people in familyare huge fans of the Detroit Redwings. RoboRaptor is a self-turning on robot my sister got for Christmas one year that scared the both of us silly!
S: S is for Scrabble, one of my favorite games. “Super Monkey” was my best friend as a toddler.
T: T is for trees that I hug. Tonsilitus, followed by a Tonsillectomy, which I underwent when I was four years old I used to play the trumpet in the school’s jazz band.
U: U is for University of Michigan, which I prefer over Michigan State. Go Wolverines!
V: V is for Virgo, my zodiac constellation.
W: W is for windows, which I need to have in a room. Classrooms without windows drive me nutty! Wombats are my favorite animals.
X: X-rays, which are a cool discovery in science. X also stands for X-men, which my sister loves to the point where it’s annoying.
Y: Y is for Yosemite and Yellowstone, the two national parks at the very top of my bucket list.
Z: Z is for zoo, one of my favorite places to go. I’ve always wanted to drive a zamboni.
